Text to CAD: a part described in words made into a 3D CAD model

Describe a part as you would to a designer, with its sizes, holes and material, and CAD2Drawing’s AI builds it as an exact solid that opens in any CAD system: your request read first, the part modelled step by step, every dimension you gave measured on it. Text to CAD is part of Pro.

Words in, STEP out

Write what the part is for, its main dimensions, its holes and threads, the material and how it is made, in up to 4,000 characters, in millimetres or inches; a sketch or a photo can go with it. You get a STEP file with the exact solid, not a mesh, which opens as an editable body in SolidWorks, Inventor, Fusion, Creo, Siemens NX or FreeCAD, and an STL for printing and viewing.

Your request read first

Before anything is modelled, the request is read: what will be made, which dimensions you gave and which are chosen for you. Where your words leave open something that matters and has no sensible default, you are asked, at most three questions, each with an answer suggested. A request for a weapon, a part of one or anything meant to harm is refused, and nothing is charged.

Built as an exact solid

The AI modeller builds the part feature by feature as one valid solid, looks at it from several sides and corrects what it finds before it is handed over. Every dimension you gave is measured on the finished model and listed, asked against measured.

Assumptions and points to check

What your words do not fix, such as a fillet radius, a wall thickness or where a hole stands, is chosen by drafting convention and listed as an assumption. The model is made by AI and is a draft: check it before you use it.

Then its 2D drawing

A part designed from words opens in the drawing tool like any STEP model, so you can make its dimensioned 2D technical drawing, with views, sections, dimensions and a title block, as PDF, DXF and SVG.

What it costs

Text to CAD is part of Pro, a monthly subscription of €10, VAT included, with no minimum term. A design is 1,000 credits from the same balance as drawings and 3D models, taken only when the model is made; reading the request and its questions are free, and a part that cannot be modelled costs nothing.

Questions

Can AI make an accurate CAD model from a text description?
CAD2Drawing’s AI builds the part as an exact solid from your words, asks where they leave something that matters open, and measures every dimension you gave on the finished model. What you did not state is chosen by convention and listed as an assumption, so the model is a draft to check before use.
Does text to CAD give a STEP file or a mesh?
CAD2Drawing’s text to CAD gives a STEP file with an exact solid (B-rep), not a mesh, which opens as an editable body in any CAD system, and an STL for printing and viewing.
Can I make a dimensioned 2D drawing of a model designed from words?
Yes. On CAD2Drawing a part designed from words opens in the drawing tool as a STEP model, and you can make its dimensioned 2D technical drawing as PDF, DXF and SVG.
A mounting plate 120 × 80 × 8 mm in aluminium, four Ø6.6 holes 10 mm from the corners and a Ø30 bore in the middle.
An example request

Gives a STEP and an STL file, four views of the part, every dimension in the request measured on the model, and the assumptions made for what it leaves open.
